There are a few avenues I could go for food but being young and not exactly thriving in the money department we must look at the most cost effective ideas.
One idea that I did not mind was a beach bbq wedding catered by magnums in Townsville. It will cost around $3000 if that is chosen.
Otherwise -
I thought that I we could hire a couple of bain maries and have a buffet reception with the helping hands of family and some kind hearted friends = P
( The Bain Maries are 50$ to hire from Doug Edes)
I do not have a clue for the main course (SOME HELP PLEASE?) however, roast and chickens are always easy or pork. Pasta and potato bake and soup can be pre made and heated up that day as well as the nibbly food.
There will be a day or two where the bridal party and friends with be making bon bons for the reception and preparing some platters for before dinner.
I have found that the woolworths platters are quite good cost wise and look very appealing -
The Aussie Platter is $26.98 and is quite large. It comes with -
• Cabanossi 500g
• Twiggy Sticks 300g
• Deli Leg Ham 200g
• Woolworths Cheese Tasty 400g
• South Cape Crispbread 100g
• Wattle Valley Dip 200
As for dessert a trifle and fruit salad will be made before hand and a visit to the cheese cake shop will be in order.
